1- Booking :
We booked our trip to Cancun with kids through Sunwing Vacations. They offer packages that include the flight, hotel, and airport transportation.
One important tip: Sometimes a 1-week trip is cheaper than 4–5 days. Always check different dates before booking to get the best deal.
There are hundreds of all-inclusive resorts in Cancun, which makes choosing one a bit overwhelming.
We chose Cancun mainly because there is a direct flight from Edmonton, which made the travel much easier.
We flew with WestJet. The flight is about 6 hours to Cancun and 6.5 hours back.
It’s a long flight, and unfortunately:
No meals are included
No TV entertainment
But there is fast free Wi-Fi, which helps.
When we arrived, the Cancun airport was very slow with luggage. We waited for 90 minutes before the luggage was out. If you can travel without checked luggage, it would save you a lot of time . I know it’s hard for a Cancun trip, but if you can manage with a carry-on, it’s much easier.

2- The Resort
We chose Planet Hollywood Cancun for our stay. The hotel was amazing very clean and very big, so it never felt crowded.
The resort has a beach, but there was a lot of seaweed , which is common in Cancun.
The resort includes:
Multiple pools
A kids’ water park and lazy river
Many restaurants and buffets
A spa and fitness center
Daily activities and entertainment
Kids and teens clubs
The kids had so much fun, and overall, we really enjoyed the experience.
We definitely recommend this resort.

They also run daily activities, and one of the most fun ones was the foam party, which the kids really enjoyed.
